The Vogue was a rarity from Jaeger LeCoultre, a dynasty that began its illustrious journey in 1833, thanks to the visionary Charles Antoine LeCoultre. This was a man who dreamt of precision and made it a reality with the invention of the “millionometre” in 1844, a device that would forever alter the landscape of watchmaking. As if that weren’t enough, his triumph at the 1851 Universal Exhibition, where he was awarded a gold medal, cemented his legacy.

The merger with Edmond Jaeger in 1925 marked a renaissance for Jaeger LeCoultre, birthing iconic pieces like the Duoplan and the diminutive Caliber 101, a marvel of micro-engineering. The Reverso in 1931, with its ingenious flip case, and the Memovox in 1951, laid the groundwork for the Vogue’s sophisticated lineage.

Fast forward to 1969 and this Vogue Ref. 9014 stands proudly as a testament to the genius that has defined Jaeger LeCoultre for over a century. With its striking gilt dial, a solid lapis lazuli chapter ring, the watch is a visual symphony. The other version, Ref. 9044 with a lapis dial and a gilt ring, is equally stunning and just 150 pieces were made across all variants making this reference a unicorn.

As we venture into the 21st century, the allure of these pre-Richemont pieces, especially those crafted in the 1950s and 1960s, intensifies. Connoisseurs and collectors are beginning to  appreciate the fine quality and very limited availability of these watches.
