After the surrealist defiance of the Crash and the geometric mystique of the Cristallor, the Ceinture stands as one of the house’s most distinctive designs; unconventional yet timeless.

Launched in 1927 and re-released in 1970, this is the rarest iteration, the difficult to find 31mm Cartier Ceinture XL powered by an automatic movement within its bubble back case and with a perfect Paris dial.

Different in design from Cartier’s usual aesthetic, the winding crown, usually a signature element that showcases Cartier’s blue sapphire cabochon, is flat here and is held within a slot in the watch bezel that Cartier called “remontoir imperdable” (captive winding).
