While the rest of the herd chases thin dress watches, this early 1970s Boucheron Carrée shows up thicker, heavier, and unapologetic. A perfect square case in solid yellow gold with a gilt dial, automatic movement, and a date window; features most Carrées have never bothered with. This is the one that decided that rules applied to other brands.

Founded in 1858, Boucheron treated watches like extensions of their Place Vendôme DNA. By the 1940s they were patenting unique clasp systems; the BT numbers hand-engraved on casebacks. The 1947 Reflet introduced the invisible sliding clasp, a seamless single-piece strap system. This Carrée borrows that same mechanism.

Most collectors chase the thin manual variants and miss the point. This one brings presence, weight, and mechanical swagger.
