Born in Geneva in 1938, Roger Dubuis’ formative years were spent immersed in the traditions at Longines, followed by a fourteen-year tenure at the revered Patek Philippe. This crucible of experience forged his ideology, shaping every line that would later define his aesthetic.

The Sympathie drew inspiration from the rare 1950s Longines Reference 846, and became his canvas. While every Sympathie is exceptional, it was this exact flagship reference, the Bi-Retrograde Perpetual Calendar; which Roger himself chose to wear. The sheer audacity of the design and shaped crystal is matched only by its extreme scarcity: production ceased at just 28 pieces. Twenty-eight. Not a misprint, but a deliberate, defiant limitation.

In an era when competitors were content with predictable designs, Dubuis challenged the establishment. He did not just make watches; he orchestrated them. And to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Roger Dubuis brand, the manufacture is now re-issuing of some of these earliest models.
